GNSS Decoder

GNSS Decoder is a simple application for extracting and displaying most relevant information from GNSS receivers. For specific usage scenarios, when the GNSS receiver is physically connected to the PC on which the application is running (usually through a serial port), a multi-client capable server can be enabled. GNSS Decoder or other applications can connect to this server as needed. Also the server allows multiple connections, thus providing a solution for sharing the same GNSS receiver between several application instances, running on one or more computers.
Once the serial port is selected, in direct connection mode, the communication protocol (baudrate, parity, protocol) is determined. If a device is detected, the best suited protocol is forced as not all of them provide access to the most advanced information and/or features. The following protocols are supported:
- NMEA-0183 - National Marine Electronics Association
- TSIP - Trimble Standard Interface Protocol
- UBX - u-blox-proprietary protocol
The application has been extensively tested on devices used in various projects thus support may be really advanced in some cases and quite poor in other. Support for new devices can be added but it is not guaranteed.
